Help & FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I join a group?

Turnout groups are invite-only. A group moderator sends you an invite link — open it and accept to join. If the group requires approval, a moderator will review your request first.

How do I create a group?

Tap "Create group" from your groups page. You become its first moderator and can invite members with a shareable invite link.

How do I create an event?

You must be a moderator of the group. Open the group's page and tap "Create Event" to set the date, time, and details.

How does scheduling work?

Instead of guessing, moderators can open a date poll with a few proposed dates. Members vote, and Turnout locks in the most popular option as the event before it happens.

How do event check-ins work?

Each event has a unique check-in code that the organizer shares at the meetup. Attendees enter it on the event page to confirm they showed up and earn their points.

How do I earn points and badges?

You earn points for checking in to events, creating and joining groups, and staying active. Badges are milestones — like your first check-in or becoming a group regular.

What are reliability scores?

For members with a few RSVPs on record, Turnout shows organizers how often they actually attend events they RSVP'd to. It's visible only to the group's organizers, to help plan around real turnout.

Can we split costs for an event?

Yes. Add an expense to the group — venue fees, snacks, a shared subscription — and Turnout tracks each member's share and who has settled up.

What are session logs?

After a meetup, organizers can post a recap or notes as a session log so members can catch up on what happened and stay engaged between events.

Will I get reminders before events?

Yes — Turnout automatically sends reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before each event you're attending.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Edit profile and use the "Delete account" option in the Danger zone. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Can I use Turnout on mobile?

Yes — Turnout is fully responsive and works great in any mobile browser.
